The Lowcountry Outfitters Hunting Services have added hog hunts to the guided hunts list.

The hog population is on the rise in the Southeastern States. The SC Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is having a time with the hog population in South Carolina.  Since the hogs have multiplied at an alarming rate, and are moving northerly, up the eastern seaboard DNR would like for hunters to harvest as many as possible.  “Feral hogs have continued to multiply, causing destruction to the landscape and native plants, jeopardizing the nesting success of ground-nesting birds.  Some of the hogs have been known to reach three hundred pounds.
