Bowfishing in the Lowcountry is one of the most exciting year round sports an archer can participate in. Bowfish for many varieties of fish: Blue/channel/flathead catfish, several species of Grass Carp, Mud fish, Gar, and others.

The Lowcountry is the ideal place to enjoy the sport of bowfishing.  Situated at the eastern part of the state of South Carolina all the way to the Atlantic ocean is a vast area of lakes rivers creeks and flooded rice fields.  All of these bodies of water hold various species of non game fish ideal for the Bowfisherman.

Lake Moultrie and connecting lake Marion each have an excess shoreline of 500 miles.  Built by the Army Corps of Engineers back in the 40's the lakes have many shallow flooded areas ideal for bowfishing.  Several state bowfishing clubs and organizations have several bowfishing tournaments every year on these lakes.

Near Charleston on the Cooper River there are dozens of flooded rice fields that are flooded and drained by the tides.  This means that with every incoming tide the fish population is renewed. There are many more places to bowfish.
